Meet former resident Dr Arnott and discover the bizarre cures and remedies of the past. The experience combines hidden underground history, immersive storytelling and hands-on experimentation - Dr Arnott really did analyse his patients' samples by colour, smell and taste.
What to expect:
- Runs Friday to Sunday, with start times at 12.00, 13.30, 15.00 and 16.30
- Lasts around 90 minutes: a guided tour of The Real Mary King's Close plus a 30-minute interactive workshop
- Hands-on historical "sample testing", and you make your own herbal remedy
- One complimentary hot drink is included
- "From £35 per adult & from £27.50 per child (5 to 15 years old)"
- "Suitable for ages 5+" - no under 5s
- Not a scare experience: "more immersive and humorous than frightening", and the sample tasting is a theatrical recreation
