Apple Day is part of the programme at Ellon Castle Gardens in Aberdeenshire.
The gardens' autumn harvest day, built around the sixty heritage fruit trees growing inside the old walls - a slow, snuffling sort of afternoon where children can taste apple varieties that never reach a supermarket.
What to expect:
- Heritage apples from the gardens' own 60 heritage fruit trees
- Local stalls - in past years Champagne cider, local honey from Udny Provendar and Linden Soap
- Refreshments on site from Annie's Tearoom
- Sunday 4 October 2026, inside the walled gardens at Schoolhill Road, Ellon
- Dogs on leads are welcome
- An outdoor garden in October - wellies and a waterproof are sensible, and the paths are grass and gravel
- No time or price has been published for 2026 yet; the 2025 edition ran noon to 4pm at £5 entry with members and children free
