Calm Start is part of the programme at Derby Museums.
A designated quiet start to the day, created for children and young people who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including neurodivergent individuals with or without a diagnosis, and their families.
What to expect:
- Tuesday 27 October 2026, 10-11.30am
- Reduced visitor numbers for a calmer atmosphere, visual supports and clear signage
- Designated quiet spaces for rest and regulation, and fidget resources to use
- Open-ended, accessible craft and art activities for all abilities in the Studios
- Booking is essential; all children must be supervised by an adult at all times
- "Suggested donation: £3 per family"
- The River Kitchen cafe stays open to the public during the session
