Children in Need Day at the West Lancashire Light Railway

Children in Need Day is part of the 2026 special events programme at the West Lancashire Light Railway in Hesketh Bank, and the railway calls it its most rewarding event of the year.

Come and meet Pudsey Bear and support the BBC's Children in Need charity, on a day when the railway gives its takings away.

What to expect:

• Sunday 1 November 2026, 11.30am to 4.30pm, and "you can ride all day on your ticket!"
• Meet Pudsey Bear
• "All our income from fares will go to Children in Need, and our tearoom income will go to Queenscourt Hospice."
• Narrow-gauge steam trains run through woodland between Becconsall and Delph stations
• "Fares are Adult £7, Child £6, Family (2+2) £18, Senior/armed forces concession £5.50."
• "The site is free to enter - there is a charge for train rides" - parking is free
• At Becconsall there is a tea room, a shop selling railway-themed gifts and Barry's Bookstall
