Christmas at the Botanics is part of the programme at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.

Christmas at the Botanics returns for 2026, bringing an unforgettable illuminated trail that will fill your evenings with festive magic. Perfect for families, friends, and couples, it transforms the Garden into a sparkling winter wonderland.

What to expect:

• Thursday 19 November to Wednesday 30 December 2026, time slots from 4.15pm; the Garden gives an end time of 8pm
• A trail featuring the classic Christmas Cathedral, the fan favourite Fire Garden and a new glowing Light Sphere
• Glittering lights, joyful music and a magical glimpse of Father Christmas
• Seasonal food and drink along the route, from hot chocolate to festive snacks (separate charges apply)
• Relaxed sessions at 4pm on Sun 29 Nov, Wed 2 Dec and Wed 9 Dec 2026
• An outdoor trail - dress for the weather; booked in advance by date and time slot
