About this event
This Wilder Youth Session is part of Norfolk Wildlife Trust's programme at Cley Marshes. Are you 11-17? Are you interested in wildlife and nature? Then this session on bird ringing could be for you! Rise early this half-term for a behind-the-scenes demonstration with the Norfolk Ornithologists Association.
What to expect:
- Friday 30 October 2026, 7:00am-9:00am
- For young people aged 11-17
- Meet trained, licensed bird ringers and see birds checked, measured and fitted with a tiny numbered ring
- Learn how ringing helps scientists track movement, migration and lifespan; all birds are released quickly and unharmed
- Meet at Cley Marshes Visitors Centre and check in at reception
- Highly weather dependent, so watch your emails for updates
- This is a free event; book in advance
