Covesea Lighthouse Tower Tour

The tower tour is part of the visitor programme at Covesea Lighthouse, outside Lossiemouth on the Moray Firth.

The lighthouse is owned by the Lossiemouth community and opened to the public in 2013. The views along both sides of the Firth are wondrous and, when nature allows, there is much to be seen in wildlife.

What to expect:

• Saturdays at 11am and 12pm, weather permitting, early April to the end of October
• A history talk on the quarterdeck, then the climb to the viewing tower
• "The climb to the top is quite strenuous - 144 steps and two fixed ladders"
• "Children under 5 are not allowed to climb the tower"; over-5s stay a parent's responsibility
• "Recommended donations for admission are as follows:- Adult £5.00, Concessions £3.00, Children £3.00"
• Run by volunteers, so tours must be pre-booked with at least 24 hours' notice
• Views over RAF Lossiemouth and the coast; a CCTV feed from the top can be watched instead
• Park by the Heritage Centre, then a 5 to 10 minute walk
