About this event
Everyone is welcome to come together at Bateman’s in East Sussex to celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, and some Buddhists. Diwali follows the lunar calendar and in 2026, falls on Sunday the 8th November.
What to expect:
- Daily 8 October to 8 November 2026, 10:00–16:30
- Bateman’s was the family home of Rudyard Kipling, author of The Jungle Book, Kim, and the Just So Stories.
- 11am to 4.30pm, last entry into the house at 4pm.
- Free, normal admission applies.
- Suitable for all ages.
- Please wear clothing suitable for the weather as this is outdoors.
