Doc's Happy Hauntings is part of the programme at the Nene Valley Railway near Peterborough. Run by the railway's Autism Railway Crew, it is "a relaxed and welcoming Halloween adventure" with a friendly rather than frightening twist, behind Danish tank engine No. 656, known as Doc.
What to expect:
- Wednesday 28 October 2026, starting at Wansford Station
- Steam journey with Doc along the Branch Line to Yarwell and back, through Yarwell Tunnel
- Trick or Treat stations to find around the railway, at Wansford and Yarwell
- Activities and entertainment in the marquee back at Wansford
- Children and grown-ups are encouraged to come in Halloween fancy dress
- Young railway fans can bring one favourite model train from home to share in a dedicated area
- Quiet spaces available, ear defenders and comfort items welcome, and the Autism Railway Crew on hand all day
- Accessible coach on the Branch Line; a Full Line ticket adds the Pacer and travel from Peterborough
