About this event

Evolution Expedition is part of the October half-term programme at the Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences in Cambridge. “Did all of the dinosaurs disappear? Is it true that whales used to live on land? Just how old are the oldest animals?” “Travel back in time with us and take part in our hands-on activities to find the answers to these questions and more!”

What to expect:

  • Two mornings of half term: Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 October 2026, 10am to 1pm
  • Drop in - no booking, and museum admission is free
  • “fun, hand-on activities to discover how life on Earth has changed over millions of years of evolution”
  • “Meet scientists from the University of Cambridge Department of Earth Sciences who are studying the fossils of ancient animals”
  • “Journey through the history of life on Earth in our new trail” - “If you complete the trail, tell us in the shop to win a prize.”
  • Indoors, in the museum galleries on Downing Street
