Family activity: SEND morning at M Shed

The SEND morning is part of the family programme at M Shed, Bristol Museums' harbourside museum, and runs on a Monday in October half-term when the museum is otherwise closed to visitors.

What to expect:

• Monday 26 October 2026; "arrive and leave anytime between 10am and 1pm and explore M Shed at your own pace"
• "This morning is designed for children and their accompanying adults who would prefer reduced background sensory stimulus."
• "Our gallery lighting will be adjusted and audio soundtracks will be turned down or off, where possible."
• "A quiet space will be available and you are welcome to borrow a ‘Little Bag of Calm’."
• Sensory maps come digitally before your visit and on paper on the day
• "Hands-on sensory activities on the theme of ‘travel and transport’" are optional and drop-in
• "Free, donations welcome." "Booking in advance is essential."
• The café and shop are closed; "You are welcome to picnic at the ground floor tables by the café."
