Family Activity - Winter Lanterns

Family Activity - Winter Lanterns is part of the programme at Glastonbury Abbey, a ruined medieval monastery in 36 acres of grounds in Somerset.

A half-term drop-in in the Abbey Museum where children turn a recycled jar into a lantern for the windowsill or the garden.

What to expect:

• Thursday 29 October 2026, 11am to 1pm, in the Abbey Museum
• "Choose from a selection of recycled glass jars, decorate your jar with craft materials and add in the light, pinecones and snow"
• Drop in - "Family Activities are included with Abbey admission or membership" and there is no need to book
• "Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times."
• The abbey grounds are open 10am to 5pm, last entry 4.15pm
• Yard Cafe and shop on site, and dogs on short leads are welcome in the grounds
