About this event
Make a Bat Box is part of the family programme at Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve, Kent Wildlife Trust's reserve and visitor centre. Bring the family along to make and decorate your own bat box to take home and hang outside for your local bats.
What to expect:
- Sunday 25 October 2026, 2pm-3:30pm, indoors in the Visitor Centre
- Build and decorate a wooden bat box together, using a kit designed for children — no tools needed
- Learn which bats might move in, how boxes help them through hibernation, and where to hang yours
- "£16 per bat box (max. 5 people)" — the group of five must include the accompanying adults
- Tickets include 20% off in the cafe on the day, so you can make a family lunch of it overlooking the lake
- Bring an apron or an old shirt to protect clothes while decorating
- Flat entrance and accessible facilities; children must be supervised throughout
- "Charges apply in the car park, card/app payments only"
