Family Fun Day: Spooky science is part of the public programme at the Royal Institution in London.
The Ri haunts its whole building and fills it with frightful fun for a day of spooky science - hands-on experiments, demonstrations and interactive shows. From bubbling potions to ghostly illusions, families find out how science brings supernatural stories to life.
What to expect:
- Saturday 24 October 2026, 11.00am to 4.00pm, across the whole building
- Activities and talks run throughout the day, so there is time to see all the talks and try all the activities
- The Ri says Family Fun Days are suitable for children aged 6 to 12, though older and younger siblings are very welcome
- All children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult, and those aged 4 and above need a ticket
- Most people stay about two hours - there is often a queue at opening, so arriving a little later can be easier
