Festival of Light 2026

Festival of Light is part of the programme at the Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway in Lynmouth, north Devon. The Victorian funicular opens after dark with “the railway and track sides all lit with colour changing lights”, which the operator calls “a beautiful journey and unforgettable experience”.

What to expect:

• Two evenings: Thursday 29 and Friday 30 October 2026, 5pm to 8pm
• A ride up or down the cliff in the dark, with the track lit in changing colours
• “No booking required, just turn up between 5pm and 8pm for an unforgettable ride!”
• The railway states it is “suitable for all ages, dogs also welcome”
• “Normal ticket prices.” - the published fares apply, dogs £1.00
• Cliff Top Café open for “homemade soup, hot rolls, delicious cakes, and comforting teas & coffees”
• The railway is open 10am until 9pm on both days, with the lights from 5pm
