On a Static Day, Flying Scotsman is on display at Swanage Station, giving visitors plenty of time to admire the world-famous locomotive, take photographs and learn about its history - and the ticket also opens up a full day of steam travel on the rest of the line.
What to expect:
- Five dates: 23, 26, 27, 30 and 31 October 2026
- Flying Scotsman on static display at Swanage Station - it is not hauling trains on these dates
- Plenty of time to photograph and get up close to the locomotive
- A Freedom of the Line ticket is included for unlimited travel on the railway's heritage steam services between Swanage, Corfe Castle and Norden
- Access to the railway's stations and museums, including the Purbeck mining museum at Norden
- Cafes, refreshments and station gift shops along the line
- "Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult"; check the timetable before travelling
