About this event
This workshop is part of Jarrow Hall's Halloween day in Jarrow. "The weird and wonderful world of British folklore has landed at Jarrow Hall." Artist in residence Andrew Bates helps visitors make masks of the creatures of British folklore.
What to expect:
- Saturday 31 October, with sittings 10am-12pm and 1pm-4pm
- Make a mask resembling the creatures that still lurk in the shadows and roam the countryside
- Learn about the medieval customs used to ward off mischievous elves
- "With your own mask you can join the Jarrow Hall Halloween costume parade and be ready for trick or treating when you get home!"
- The costume parade runs between the two sittings, 12pm to 12.30pm
- "Free with your annual pass" - otherwise site admission applies
- Led by Jarrow Hall's artist in residence, Andrew Bates
