About this event
Halloween Family Fun Days is part of the programme at Weardale Railway, the heritage line running between Stanhope and Bishop Auckland in the Durham Dales. Join us for a ride onboard our spooktacular ghost train.
What to expect:
- Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October 2026
- Trains depart Stanhope at 10:30 and 14:30, and Bishop Auckland West at 12:00 and 16:00
- Calling at Witton le Wear, Wolsingham, Kingfisher (by request) and Frosterley
- Fancy dress competition at 2pm at Stanhope Station, with a prize for the best costume
- Best decorated pumpkin competition at 2pm, plus a pumpkin trail around Stanhope Station
- Local craft market on Platform Twooooohhhh, and the café is open
- "Up to two children can travel for £1 each with one fare paying adult accompanying them"
- Stanhope and Bishop Auckland returns can be booked in advance; intermediate stations on the day
- Free car park at Stanhope, with toilets and baby change at the station
