About this event
Halloween Spooky Specials are part of the programme at the Apedale Valley Light Railway, the 24in narrow gauge line run by Moseley Railway Trust volunteers beside Apedale Community Country Park. Steam trains run after dark on a 15-minute round trip.
What to expect:
- Sunday 25 October, Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October, picked to fit around school half-term
- Trains run at frequent intervals from 4pm, finishing with the last train at 8pm; no trains operate before 4pm on these dates
- No need to book in advance, just turn up - tickets are bought on the day from the station shop
- If you have little ones, the railway suggests coming earlier in the evening before it gets fully dark
- Wrap up warm and bring a torch - it is dark in the car parking area
- There is a chance (actually, pretty much a certainty) you may get wet, so be prepared
- The train can convey wheelchairs, and carers visiting with registered disabled individuals travel free during 2026
