Home Education: Textile crafting (7+)

This session is part of the Home Education workshops programme that Wakefield Museums and Castles runs at Pontefract Castle and Wakefield Museum, in partnership with Wakefield Council’s Adult Education Service.

What to expect:

• Wednesday 14 October 2026, 12:45pm to 2:15pm, at Pontefract Castle
• “This workshop is for home educated children aged 7+ and their families.”
• “Have a go at making textile crafts to take away”
• “Create images and patterns using different techniques including sewing, needle felting and fabric pens”
• “Use the artistic style and stories of the Bayeux Tapestry to influence our own designs”
• “No previous experience of textile crafting is required.”
• “£6.80 per child, accompanying adults free”
• Pairs with the morning Bayeux Tapestry broadcast; you can bring a packed lunch or buy food from The Keep Café
