Invermoriston Bat Walk

Invermoriston Bat Walk is part of the programme at Dundreggan Rewilding Centre in Glenmoriston, and takes place in Invermoriston village.

To celebrate the Highlands & Islands Climate Festival and Scotland's Climate Week, Dundreggan's Heritage and Gaelic Development Officers lead a guided bat walk with local ecologist and bat expert Mhairi Duncan.

What to expect:

• Learn about the bats living in the area and how they survive a cold Highland winter
• Try out the bat detectors and listen in on calls you cannot otherwise hear
• Batty folklore and a few Gaelic words along the way
• Friday 2 October 2026, 7:00pm to 8:30pm, meeting at Glenmoriston Millennium Hall
• "Adult £5.00" and "Child Ticket (Under 16) £2.00"; children must be accompanied by an adult
• An October evening outdoors - warm layers and a torch are sensible
• The operator warns that in the event of persistent rain the walk may be postponed at short notice
