Late Night Openings

Experience one of Lancashire's greatest natural spectacles as tens of thousands of geese come into roost in the evening at WWT Martin Mere. Returning from their long day of grazing, skeins of geese fly across the sky and settle down on our mere for the night, with a beautiful autumn sunset behind them.

What to expect:

• Wednesdays and Saturdays in October — 3, 7, 10, 14, 17, 21 and 24 October — 5:30pm to 7pm
• “There will be free access to this event from 5:30pm to encourage everyone to experience this unmissable moment.” “No booking required”
• “Is this suitable for children? Yes, we encourage all ages to come along”, and “we'll have guides available to ask any questions”
• Only the Discovery Hide and nature trail are open; the Living Collection closes at 4:30pm as usual
• Signage directs you to the overflow carpark and in through the side gate
