About this event
Join Fin Scott, of Lonely Larch Leatherwork, for a traditional leatherwork workshop. Participants are taught three different forms of braiding: leather "mystery" braids, a seven-strand braid from thread, and a traditional natural cordage made from dried plant fibres.
Leather braiding skills workshop is part of the Cairngorms 2030 arts and culture programme run by the Cairngorms National Park Authority.
What to expect:
- Saturday 10 October 2026, 12pm to 4pm, on Tomintoul Road, Ballindalloch
- Suitable for adults and children aged 12+; under 16s must be accompanied by an adult, both on bookable tickets
- Free admission, booked in advance through Eventbrite
- No previous experience needed - all tools and materials are provided and Fin supports throughout
- Light refreshments (tea, coffee, water, juice, biscuits) provided
- Indoor venue with ramp or lift access and accessible toilets
