Light and Movement: Diwali Family Day

Light and Movement: Diwali Family Day is part of the programme at Museum of the Home, 136 Kingsland Road, Hoxton, London.

In the museum’s own words: "join us for a day of creative activities and participative performances to learn about the festival of lights and how its themes can connect with us all." Led by dance practitioner Ranjini Nair and artist Poonam Dhuffer.

What to expect:

• Tuesday 27 October 2026, drop in 10am-12pm or 1pm-3pm
• Kuchipudi Workshop: learn the Indian dance style’s steps and gestures and "become a prowling tiger, a swaying majestic elephant, a tiny buzzing bee, or a mighty flowing river"
• Constellations of Light: cut, paint and collage your own luminous circles, which gather into a growing constellation across the day
• "This event is free of charge, any donations are warmly received."
• "Walk-up visits are welcome, but booking a ticket helps us to plan for the day."
• Museum admission is free; baby changing, a buggy park and a Reading Lounge on site
