What exactly is Maggot Therapy, this remarkable NHS prescription treatment for infected, chronic wounds? Our maggot research group at Swansea University has made scientific discoveries that can explain exactly how maggots quickly, and incredibly effectively, help heal wounds, such as diabetic foot and venous leg ulcers, In addition, we will share how maggots are currently being used to treat and cure nasty antibiotic-resistant canine ear infections, in rescue animals. We really hope to change the “yucky” dislike, and low regard for these wonderful creatures! With Professor Yamni Nigam, Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences, Swansea University Swansea Science Festival - Swansea University
