About this event
It's back! The Monsters & Myths Trail returns this October, with new spooky stories and spectacular science. Follow the trail through Dynamic Earth's interactive galleries and uncover the real creatures, natural wonders and scientific secrets that have inspired your favourite spooky tales.
What to expect:
- Daily from Saturday 3rd October to Sunday 1st November 2026, from 10am
- Use your Mythical Map to find legends hidden in the immersive galleries and collect stamps along the way
- Discover myths like dragons, kelpies and werewolves
- Finish in Core Café by mixing your own Dragon's Magical Potion — allow 10 minutes; all potion ingredients are vegan
- Final entry for potion-making is 4.30pm (5.30pm from 10th–19th October)
- "Add this trail for £4.50 when you purchase admission to the Dynamic Earth galleries"
- Enjoyed by all ages, but younger explorers may need a little help from their grown-up
