October Half Term Holiday Railway Day

October Half Term Holiday Railway Day is part of the events programme at Abbey Pumping Station, Leicester's industrial museum. The museum's diesel-driven narrow gauge railway runs from late morning to 4pm and entry to the site is free.

What to expect:

• Tuesday 20 October 2026, with train rides running between 11.30am and 4pm
• "The Railway will be running for just £1 per ride on the day."
• Entry to the museum and grounds is free, and the switch room café is open for light refreshments
• Bring a picnic for the grounds — use a picnic table or your own blanket
• All children must be accompanied by an adult on the diesel driven train rides
• Pay by cash at the station, or by card at reception or the café
• No car parking on site; the nearest is the pay and display car park at the neighbouring National Space Centre
