Parkland Explorers: Hedgehog Houses

Parkland Explorers: Hedgehog Houses is part of the programme at The Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle, County Durham.

An hour outside in the museum parkland over October half term, building shelters for hedgehogs to hibernate in, with games and hedgehog facts alongside.

What to expect:

• Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 October 2026, 10.30am to 11.30am
• "Join the Learning Team in the parkland to help build habitats for hibernating hedgehogs."
• "Help us create these eco-friendly hedgehog houses, play fun games and learn facts about these fascinating animals."
• "On days when it is too rainy outside, we’ll take to the Create Space to make arty hedgehog houses instead."
