Relaxed Morning: National Museum of Scotland is part of the programme at the National Museum of Scotland on Chambers Street in Edinburgh.
A monthly Relaxed Morning for anyone who would appreciate a calmer visit to the museum. Friendly staff will be there to give you a warm welcome and support your visit as you explore the museum without noisy interactives and videos.
What to expect:
- Sunday 4 October, Sunday 1 November and Sunday 6 December 2026, 10:00 - 12:00
- Free admission, drop-in
- Primarily for families with neurodiverse children, neurodiverse young people and adults, and anyone with sensory needs
- Loud sounds from audiovisual displays, interactives and films are reduced or switched off
- Sensory backpacks can be borrowed from the information desks
- Sound is switched back on at 12:00, but you are welcome to stay as long as you like
- The Millennium clock in the Collecting Stories gallery still sounds at 11:00 and 12:00
