About this event
This October half term, Fishbourne Roman Palace is seeking new recruits to enlist in its Roman Army. Youngsters and their families can get stuck into daily activities for trainee Roman soldiers, with military exercises in the Palace gardens.
What to expect:
- Monday 26 to Friday 30 October 2026, 10am to 4pm
- Write your name in Roman letters, sword and shield practice and spear throwing
- Dressing up in uniform, Roman medicines and Roman board games
- A seasonal Pumpkin Trail through the Palace gardens
- Age suitability: All ages
- Included with general admission tickets; activities an additional £1 per participant, purchased upon arrival
- Members of The Sussex Archaeological Society receive free entry
