Samhuinn Fire Festival

Edinburgh's Samhuinn Fire Festival is a spectacular winter celebration that brings ancient Celtic traditions to life through fire, drumming, acrobatics, and immersive theatre. Hosted by Beltane Fire Society, this live parade marks the Celtic New Year and the seasonal transition from summer to winter, telling the story of the Summer King and the mysterious Cailleach goddess.

Your family will experience a magical blend of performance art and cultural storytelling, with the Winter King highlighting the cosy, festive side of the season. As a large outdoor event featuring fire effects, consider your children's comfort with crowds and spectacle before attending. Registration in advance is required for full event details.
