Santa's Elf Express

Santa's Elf Express is part of the programme at the Strathspey Railway, the heritage steam line from Aviemore to Broomhill.

Elves roam the decorated carriages with singalongs, jokes and Christmas mischief, and Santa visits every table in turn as the train steams through the winter Highlands.

What to expect:

• An approximately 1 hour 45 minute return steam journey from Aviemore to Broomhill and back.
• Santa spends a few minutes with each family, posing for photos and handing a gift to every child aged 10 months and over.
• Every child aged 3 to 15 gets a Santa gift and a festive activity book.
• Tickets are fixed-price tables of up to 2 or up to 4, not per seat; single seats are sold in the Observation Carriage.
• "Wrap up warm! Our heritage carriages feature traditional single-glazed windows and can feel chilly."
• A trolley sells snacks and drinks, there is a bar, and you may bring your own food.
• Two wheelchair spaces on board (First Class and the Observation Carriage are not).
