SEND-Friendly Play Sessions

SEND-Friendly Play Sessions is part of the programme at Discovery Village, an immersive role play centre in Christchurch near Bournemouth.

Our SEND-friendly play sessions are designed for children with special educational needs and their families: a calm, welcoming space with fewer families, lower music and microphone levels, and nine themed role play areas to explore at their own pace.

What to expect:

• Wednesdays 14 October, 28 October and 18 November 2026 (dates from the booking page)
• Two-hour sessions; the centre says they usually run 3:45pm until 5:45pm
• Arrive at any point, take breaks, and leave and re-enter if needed
• Joining in with the story and activities is always optional
• Sensory ear defenders to borrow, and a decompression space by the toilets
• No formal diagnosis needed; siblings are very welcome
• Free on-site parking and a woodland café
