About this event
Sensory Friendly Sessions are part of Footsteps in the Forest, the Samhain festival at Slieve Gullion Forest Park, which runs 21-27 October 2026. They are the same illuminated woodland trail run earlier in the evening, with the volume and the sensory load turned down.
What to expect:
- Two sessions every evening, at 4pm and 4.30pm, from Wednesday 21 to Tuesday 27 October 2026
- Designed to provide a calmer and more relaxed experience, with lower music levels, reduced sensory stimulation and more natural daylight
- Mythical characters, storytelling and live performances along the illuminated trail
- The experience lasts approximately 60 – 80 minutes
- Ticketed, booked by session time; the £10 ticket per car includes the forest park car parking fee
- The 1.65km trail includes steep gradients and uneven surfaces; prams are permitted but not recommended
- Accessible parking for Blue Badge holders and an accessible toilet are on site
