About this event
Sensory Sunday is part of the programme at Camera Obscura & World of Illusions in Edinburgh.
A sensory-adapted morning at the five-floor attraction, for neurodivergent visitors, those with autism spectrum conditions or sensory processing differences, and anyone who would enjoy a more relaxed experience.
What to expect:
- Sunday mornings on 4 October, 8 November and 6 December 2026
- Visitor numbers reduced for the first hour of opening; from 11am the adjustments are removed, but you are welcome to stay
- Music turned off throughout the building, hand dryers off and paper towels provided
- The Camera Obscura show is adapted: fewer people, less dark, shorter and quieter
- Wearing gloves in the Mirror Maze is optional
- Quiet space, sensory backpacks and ear defenders available on site
- Book online in advance; the 9am or 9.30am slots allow the most time with the adjustments
- An average visit takes around 1 hour 45 minutes and your ticket is valid all day
