About this event
Sherlock Bones is part of the Halloween programme at Mountfitchet Castle in Stansted, Essex. It is a skeleton hunt woven through the reconstructed Norman village, the castle and its grounds: “Keep your eyes peeled as you explore the medieval village, castle and grounds – you never know where a bone-chilling discovery might be waiting!”
What to expect:
- Every day from 24th October to 1st November 2026, inside normal opening “from 10.00am to 5.00pm”
- See if you can find all the skeletons hiding around the castle and grounds
- “Sherlock Bones is included with your normal admission ticket, with no additional charge”
- Admission: “Adults £18.00”, “Children (3-13yrs) £14.00”, “Children under 3 years are FREE”
- “Book your tickets online or simply just turn up, pay on the gate”
- “Last Admission into the attraction is 3.45pm”; a minimum of 2 hours is recommended
- No dogs — numerous animals roam freely within the grounds
