About this event
Shortlisted: YOU! is part of the programme at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery on Queen Street in Edinburgh.
Inspired by the Scottish Portrait Awards 2026, this is your chance to step into the spotlight and make a portrait of your own. There is no judging, no shortlist and definitely no need to sit still - just make, play and see where your portrait takes you.
What to expect:
- Every afternoon from Monday 15 to Friday 19 February 2027, 2–4pm
- Runs through the February half-term holidays
- Free, drop-in - no booking needed
- Get experimental with colour, texture, photography, drawing and unexpected materials
- Capture a face, a feeling or a memory - or make something that looks nothing like a portrait
- Held in the Farmer Education Suite, with the Scottish Portrait Awards exhibition upstairs
- Wheelchair access, accessible toilets, baby changing and a buggy park on site
