About this event
Spells & Swirls is part of the 2026 events programme at the Pen Museum in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter. A bewitching 3-hour journey into contemporary Copperplate calligraphy with a seasonal twist, using a custom-made Halloween workbook of spooky vocabulary and whimsical flourishes.
What to expect:
- Saturday 24 and Friday 30 October 2026
- Two sessions each day: 9:30-12:30 and 13:00-16:00
- For beginners or anyone looking to refine their hand
- Cobwebs, creeping spiders and fluttering bats to practise
- Finish by making a bespoke seasonal bookmark with coloured inks
