Spooktown

Spooktown is part of the programme at Hopetown Darlington, the railway heritage museum quarter on McNay Street in Darlington. For half term the whole site "transforms into Spooktown; a hauntingly fun destination packed with thrills, chills and ghostly goings-on for the whole family".

What to expect:

• Daily from 24 October to 1 November 2026, 10am to 4pm
• "Explore a world of eerie encounters, spooky surprises and mysterious railway spirits."
• Site admission is "Free of charge" and covers the Ghost Train in the Exhibition Hall and the Trick and Treat Trail
• It also covers "the Family Fun Day on Saturday 31 October" and "The Misfit Market on Sunday 1 November"
• "Some events and activities during Spooktown carry a separate charge."
• Separately ticketed alongside it: the Big Science Spooktacular Show, Into the Wild bushcraft, the Little Monsters Halloween Bash and Haunted Night at the Museum
• Fancy dress encouraged - "round up your witches, wizards, vampires and little monsters"
