Spooky Cave Tour at South Street Caves, Dorking

The Spooky Cave Tour is part of the programme at Dorking Museum & Heritage Centre, which runs tours of the South Street Caves in Dorking.

The caves are famous for having stored wine and port, and the museum's volunteer guides lead tours through the tunnels beneath South Street.

What to expect:

• Saturday 31 October 2026, tours at 5pm and 6pm
• Meet your guides at the cave entrance in South Street, beside the War Memorial and opposite Waitrose
• "Sorry, but children below the age of 5 cannot enter the caves."
• The ground is sandy and uneven, with more than 40 steps down to a lower chamber
• Footwear must not be flip-flops, open-toed sandals or high heels; only small bags
• Open Day Tours can only be booked and paid for online; there are no refunds on cave tickets
• The 5pm tour is shown as fully booked
