Spooky Halloween Trail at Ellon Castle Gardens

Spooky Halloween Trail is part of the programme at Ellon Castle Gardens in Aberdeenshire.

Be afraid, be very afraid. Once a year the ghosts, ghouls, witches and creatures of the night take over the walled gardens and children follow the trail through them after dark.

What to expect:

• A trail around the walled gardens, decorated and populated for Halloween
• Friday 30 October 2026 - one night only, and 30 Oct 2026 is indeed a Friday
• Costumes are the point: past years invited everyone to come as ghosts, ghouls and witches
• Set in the gardens at Schoolhill Road, Ellon, among the ancient yew trees
• Well behaved dogs are allowed, but as the gardens put it, "no scaredy cats"
• It runs after dark in late October - bring a torch, wellies and warm layers
• Time and ticket details for 2026 are not published yet; in past years tickets were sold in advance rather than at the gate
