About this event
Spoons and Shrooms is part of the October half-term programme at Monkton Nature Reserve near Ramsgate in Kent.
Make friendly spoon mushrooms that will cheer up any room, then go looking for the real thing on the reserve.
What to expect:
- Two sittings: Tuesday 27 October at 1pm and Thursday 29 October at 11am
- Make spoon mushrooms to take home
- A spotting sheet guides you round to see how many species of fungi you can find
- The Kent Field Club's survey here found Meadow Coral and the delightfully named Mousepee Pinkgill
- "Price is per child only. Includes entrance to the reserve." — accompanying adults are free of charge
- £5.00 per child, booked in advance; cancellations within 24 hours cannot be refunded
- Held in a 16-acre former chalk quarry with woodland, ponds, chalk cliffs and a bat cave to explore
- Your ticket also gets you the reserve's trail walks, sculpture hunt, nature bingo and brass rubbing
