Squirrel Talks

Squirrel Talks is part of the programme at the Castle Howard Arboretum, near York. A short, informal talk at the red squirrel enclosure, led by the team who look after them — real animals, met in the middle of a walk.

What to expect:

• “Join our free talk on Tuesdays & Saturdays at 10.30am, (weather dependent)”
• “Please meet in the Red Squirrel Enclosure”
• The talk covers “red squirrel behaviour, habitat and why the Arboretum is such an important refuge for them”
• The operator calls it “Perfect for families, nature lovers, and curious minds of all ages”
• The Arboretum is home to “David Attenborough and Cinnamon, a young pair of red squirrels”
• Free to attend, but an Arboretum admission ticket is needed to be there
• Running to Saturday 31 October 2026; began 31 March 2026
