Stories in Motion

Stories in Motion is part of the half-term family programme at the Museum of Oxford, in the Town Hall on St Aldate's: "Bring the stories of the Museum of Oxford to life through movement!"

What to expect:

• Thursday 29 October 2026; two sessions, 11.00-12.00 and 14.00-15.00
• "This 1-hour interactive workshop introduces children to Bharatanatyam, one of the world’s oldest classical Indian dance forms."
• Led by Oxford-based dance artist Shreya Kallingal, who has over two decades in the form
• Children "try out fun basic dance steps to traditional music" and learn storytelling hand gestures
• "No dance experience required!"
• The museum recommends it for ages 6-11, and "Children must be supervised at all times."
• £4 per child; "Each child ticket includes free entry for one accompanying adult."
• "The session will start at the advertised time so please arrive a few minutes before"
