About this event
The 1940s Steam Event is part of the steam events programme at Papplewick Pumping Station near Ravenshead, Nottingham, one of eight weekends a year when the Victorian beam engines are in steam.
"Come see an array of military and civilian re-enactors plus encampment displays along with period vehicles, trade stalls."
What to expect:
- Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October 2026, 10am to 4pm
- "The dramatic Cooling Pond takes place at 2pm both days and is not to be missed."
- Live entertainment from Jayne Darling & Kevin Mac (Saturday) and Johnny Victory & Lula May (Sunday)
- The James Watt beam engines in operation, a blacksmith at the forge and RC boats on the cooling pond
- Children's play area; miniature steam railway and reservoir tours at extra charge
- Child (Under 12) FREE; adult tickets £14.00 online
- Dogs welcome on short leads; free parking opposite the main gates
