About this event
The ultimate family adventure: track down our most unusual soldiers! Behind the Guards' ceremonial and combat roles lies a true history of the unusual animal army that marched into battle, guarded the palaces, and saved soldiers' lives. Led by an expert guide, this fun, family tour brings history to life.
What to expect:
- October half term 2026: 24th Oct 10.30am and 2.30pm; 26th Oct 1.00pm; 30th Oct 1.00pm; 31st Oct 10.30am and 2.30pm
- Duration: 30 minutes
- Stories of Jacob the Goose, regimental mascot dogs, trench rats, carrier pigeons and regimental cows
- "Cost: Adult £11, children aged 6 to 16 £3, other ticket types available. Museum entry included with your ticket."
- Half term offer: under-16s visit free with a paying adult, 24th October - 1st November
- Museum is down several sets of stairs; lift currently out of service
- No buggy park and no toilets on site (nearest in St James's Park)
