About this event
The Old Dock tour is part of the programme at the Maritime Museum in Liverpool.
Discover the origin of Liverpool's fortune, buried underneath Liverpool ONE: a guided tour of the world's first commercial enclosed wet dock, revealed during excavations in 2001, and the brave idea and feat of engineering that shaped the city.
What to expect:
- Wednesdays, Fridays and every other Thursday and Saturday at 10.30am, 12pm and 2.30pm; dated sessions from 10 October to 5 December 2026
- Each tour lasts up to an hour
- Meeting point: outside the entrance to the Pump House Pub
- See the Old Dock rising more than 20 feet from the bed of the Pool, from a modern bridge and walkways
- Accessible for wheelchair users, with a lift to the Old Dock
- Child tickets for ages 6-17; under 6s go free
