About this event
The Room is part of the programme at V&A Dundee, Scotland's design museum on the Dundee waterfront.
Over the past 18 months a group of local Dundonians with learning disabilities have worked together to create a unique, interactive, sensory room. Filled with opportunities to play, create, explore and relax, it invites visitors to engage with light, sound, texture and colour in their own way.
What to expect:
- Friday 11 September to Saturday 31 October 2026
- Open 10.00 to 17.00 daily, in the Designer in Residence space
- "Free, drop-in" - no ticket needed
- In the group's own words: "In the room there is a tunnel, with torches and mirrors. There is also a wall you can draw on... We have a bit to play musical instruments and squishy cushions. There is a forest you can touch."
- "The room was made for play, sensory exploration, feeling, laughter, rest, friendship, mess, expression and choice."
