The Saturday Salon at The House of Automata

The Saturday Salon is part of the programme at The House of Automata in Forres.

A live performance of antique automata in the charming atmosphere of a 19th-century salon: rare clockwork figures wound up and set going for a small seated audience, the way they were meant to be seen rather than behind glass.

What to expect:

• Rare automata performed live for a small seated audience
• An exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the restoration workshop
• Entry to the main exhibition is included in the Salon ticket
• "Join us on the last Saturday of every month at 2:30 pm"
• "Tickets : £15 adults/ £10 children"
• The wider exhibition holds over 200 antique and modern automata, many of which visitors can operate themselves at the push of a button
• Advance booking by email or phone; the museum says the Salon show is often sold out and early booking is recommended
• The gift shop is full of automata kits, magic and puzzle boxes and animated cards
