The English Touring Opera are back at Exeter Library with a brand-new accessible theatre show created for SEN and neurodiverse children and their families. Mimi is lonely. Everyone at her school has something unique that expresses who they are: soft lemur tails or beautiful golden wings. Everyone, that is, apart from Mimi. Until one day, she befriends a boy called Sonni and the most incredible thing happens… she sprouts donkey ears! Overjoyed with her new friend, Mimi sets off on a quest around the school to become as cool as she can. But as she’s drawn into all things shiny, is being popular all it seems? Co-created with students at Briarwood School in Bristol, Mimi and the Golden Touch is a retelling of the Greek myth of King Midas, exploring friendship, belonging and the power of being yourself.
